EcoHouse Santa Fe can assist you in every aspect of the home building process including site selection, design, and of course the actual construction phase. What sets our building practices apart from the rest of the green builders is that we strive to 'passively' reduce the energy need of a home. We provide turnkey solutions to anyone looking to build in the Santa Fe area and are relentless in our efforts to provide quality homes for our clients.

Our homes often receive commendation for their high standard of comfort. This is not only due to the all-natural materials we use to build our homes, but also because of our unique and innovative design that maintains pristine indoor air quality. For example, the air in our homes is recycled up to nine times a day, and additional filters can be installed in our system to prevent allergy provoking pollen and particles from entering the home. what is green building

green leaf

Green building aims to utilize a wide range of techniques and practices to reduce the impact our homes have on the environment and our health. Residences in the United States are responsible for 22% of the total energy consumption and contribute 21% of total CO2 emissions. Green building strives to reduce this burden on the environment by taking advantage of renewable energy sources, passive, active, and photovoltaic systems, and using smart landscaping to reduce water use. A lot of attention is paid to reducing the overall home energy need, acquiring building materials from local sources, and generating on-site renewable and sustainable energy.

At EcoHouse Santa Fe we rely heavily on the building principals and techniques laid out by the Passive House Standard. Ultimately this approach to building homes aims to reduce the overall energy need of a residence rather than merely create an offset for energy consumption through the use of active solar systems such as photovoltaic panels.
